Since 17 of May 2016, Romania has joined the countries where smoking is not allowed in closed public spaces.
Law no. 15/2016 drastically covers the norms and rules permitted until now. The regulations apply both to legal and private citizens.
One of the obligations of the legal citizens is to display in plain sight their own regulation regarding smoking and the “Smoking is not allowed” sign, together with the phone number of the closest Police Station.
Smoking is forbidden in all closed public spaces, closed working spaces, common transportation means, playgrounds. Smoking is now allowed in healthcare facilities, school, and also child protection services facilities, both state and private.
